Flying

[this is good]
Refresh my memory...was your dad a pilot? Recreational? In the war and then recreational? I remember that in class there was a definite opportunity to learn about world war II airplanes...I want to say in 4th grade at some point we had model building time and one field trip we went out somewhere to look at a B-25 that was parked there.
I didn't mean to ask "in the war"...I meant to ask "in the military"
He had an interest in aviation. He took flying lessons up until he soloed, but I don't think he ever actually got his license. I'm not sure. It all happened before I was born. Yeah, I remember the aviation unit he taught and the model building. Fourth grade sounds right. I think that's what got me hooked on airplanes, too. Or got me hooked on model glue. One of the two.

More military/WW II related recollection...remember that great picture book he had in the room that us boys in the class must have poured through hundreds of times...I think he rescued it out of the trash, someone had cut out the pictures they wanted and then was done with it (as cool as some of the pictures were, I was always so curious what pictures we didn't get to see). What happened to it??

Cool! Let me know if you have any starting student questions. I got my license about six years ago, but shortly after that sort of lost interest. It was totally fun though.
Do try not to pull the red handles. I dunno 'bout you but the second tells me not to do something, I'm doin it, so if you're the same, contain the urge toward disobedience.
